1. Would you support the development of a "bionic" person?
I think we are some parts of bionic people when we drive car, when we are using computer or when using the machines. Machine and human have been very close together since long time ago. If look around now, some people using cell phone or sending e-mail look like a half of man and a half of machine. Bionic person is more advanced version than machine using person.
2. How would you rate "the control of artificial limbs by thought alone"?
In medical, the robot limbs are already good for distant operations with less scar and more accurate results. I think it's really fascinating creature if used for good intentions especially for paralysed people.
Several years ago, we can imagine while we see the movie like "The 600 million guy" or "Terminator".
The dream comes true.

week 11 assignments
Acupuncture as effective energy medicine
Acupuncture is effective to body energy as well as body systemic energy.
For example, bleeding acupuncture method is used for reducing high fever and several points is used for reducing temperature in blood level like UB40, LI11 etc.
Actually, it works very well.
Following the myofascial trigger pain theory, muscle pain usually comes from lack of blood supply and the points are malfunctioning for ATP generation.
If acupuncture treatments are used into those points, the symptoms are resolved.
And, involving the neural system, acupuncture can stimulate the segmented neural system which can be changed sympathetic to parasympathetic nervous system.
That means acupuncture can control body metabolism, energy and temperature somehow.
What conclusions can you draw from Kirlian photography?
It is very interesting method which can be proved living energy in nature.
Human intent as it affects health
I believe that intentions are the most important to treat or take care of someone.
Great minds are more powerful than great knowledge in clinic.
I saw lots of miraculous incidents which the novice interns show the dramatic changes from severe patients, or medical qi gong practitioners treat patients successfully.

Biophysics and Oriental Medicine
Oriental medicine is the one part of ancient sciences. It has been originated from physics, earth science, biology, psychology even anatomy and physiology.
Some people who don't understand about TCM fully think that tcm is more like holistic, vague, witch's medicine or placebo effects. If you had an acupuncture treatment, but it did not work anything. I would say the acupuncturist are not appropriate to be a master of science.
In the first day of TCM class, we have learned about yin and yang, 5 elements theory and 8 principles. That's a part of explanation which TCM is based on science.
I believe that we choose a different door each other but open to enter toward the exactly same room. Just with different languages, we are telling the same objects.
I'm a Living System.
Yes, I'm a living system to be or not to be.
When I am in active living situation, I feel more living cognition.
When I am in passive living organism, dead body, I am still involving a part of processing living things for micro organism.
For example, mercury contamination in food chain can be shown us how dead things manifested after being eaten and remained as an another formation and participate on.

My E-Prime Day
Followed by weather caster, Showers and slight chance of thunderstorms. Some thunderstorms may produce small hail. Highs in the upper 50s. South winds 10 to 20 mph. on Tuesday.
As usual, I drove the freeway 24 for 45 minutes and arrived at school right before 9:00 A.M.
Wandering a kitchen to seek a cup of nice fragrant tea, I felt more thirst and warmer in class to my skin thermostatic sense than usual.
After learning about E-prime, I feel like to change the sentences of Shakespeare's Hamlet.
To exist or not to exist,I ask this question.
Can I synthesize East and West?
I think that people living in USA are already synthesizing East and West more over North and South.
Food, drink, music, clothing, medicine, even the president of USA, all aspects of society are shown to us the proof of mixing culture.
While I am staying here and learning TCM, I will be busy to acquire and synthesize them.
When I was in college in Korea, I had learn about Western medicinal theory as a health educator.
Based on western knowledge, I can add TCM theory and educate people with both beneficial facts.

Newton's 3 laws and me
Newton's the first law: I. Every object in a state of uniform motion tends to remain in that state of motion unless an external force is applied to it.
In my case, I would like to stay at my bed in the morning keeping my sweet dream as well as reluctantly mind to go to bed at night watching T.V. or surfing the Internet.
Newton's the second law: II. The relationship between an object's mass m, its acceleration a, and the applied force F is F = ma. Acceleration and force are vectors (as indicated by their symbols being displayed in slant bold font); in this law the direction of the force vector is the same as the direction of the acceleration vector.
I have learned how to cure the disease which is the kind of visitor not predator from Korean experienced doctor.
For curing the patients, we need to understand about the Newton's 2 law which is similar to act to push the evil qi out of body. Slowly started then push hard, mild cure then strong medicine.
Newton's the third law: III. For every action there is an equal and opposite reaction.
We seem to be well understood about that law in bacterial reaction when we use antibacterial medicine.
Our "Energy Efficient" culture
Just 200 years ago, people are very happy and thank to Westerns industrial revolution. But, now we are starting to be longed for the life before too much industrialized society.
We go to market with reusable bag instead of using plastic bag by walk or bicycle instead of driving 4 by 4 giant car. It is just realized on the countries post experienced wasting energy, but the developing countries are still requested to be more industrial and comfortable life using more and more energy.
Descartes has a lot to answer for!

"Ordered chaos"- does this sound familiar?
Yes.
I think ordered chaos is the periods right before finding the order which we had been ignored or not be known.
We had been searched pathophysiology for helping the patients and saved the life finding the pattern of diseases.
Before fully understanding the disease paths, we were so chaos and panic with the idiopathtic illness.
Knowledge is the order, ignorance is the ordered chaos.
Fractals as patterns of complex system.
There is no surprising the fractals as patterns of complex system. We were already a part of fractals from our mom and dad moreover ancestors.
Just finding a kind of fractals in our body, there are several fractals including ear as a body side shape and hands as a body. With those fractals, we treat acupuncture distal points, ear, or hand acupuncture.
In tcm herbs, for example, ren shen is the similar shape of human body. We had believed that ren shen had qi tonifying function strongly.
Consciousness out of chaos?
I am wondering whether consciousness is out of ordered chaos or unconsciousness is out of chaos. It's not explained just brain functioning in western view.
In TCM theory, 5 organs have each mind and spirit; shen, hun, po, yi, and zhi.
Each spirit has a opinion and talks to their mind constantly, even hun is wandering busily at night time.
Followed by dominating organ, person's behavior could be shown at right times.
